"Thank you for making INDOfest 2009 a huge success!

After many months of preparation, South Australia’s second INDOfest is now behind us and what a huge success it was. This year attracting up to 10,000 people, our five day festival proved once again how amazingly eager South Australians are to experience the depth of Indonesian art, cuisine, culture and language – from the large groups who attended the Adelaide Botanic Garden Indonesian spice walking trail, to the students who packed out the Mercury Cinema for the IF!Fest Indonesian Film Festival, to the food stall queues at the Family Fun Day and the crowds dancing up a storm to the amazing sounds of our featured ‘dangdut’ bands Seratuspersen and SeOrKesNyah.

Both the Lord Mayor of Adelaide and the new Ambassador of Indonesia – His Excellency Primo Alui Joelianto – have expressed their immense enthusiasm for INDOfest 09 as well their commitment to supporting future events, proving that INDOfest is indeed a triumph for the Indonesian-Australian community and a welcome addition to Adelaide’s festival calendar.

As a volunteer-run, not-for-profit event, we are extremely proud of what we, as a community, have achieved with INDOfest this year, which would not have been possible without the support of our organising committee, volunteers, wider Indonesian community and of course our generous sponsors.
